8/30/23- BDCHS will resume regular operations tomorrow, 8/31. It will be a GOLD 4-block day.

Dear BDCHS Families,
Given the expected high winds across the region and potential storm surge that may occur along Tampa Bay’s coastal areas due to the storm, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School will be closed Tuesday, August 29th and Wednesday, August 30th with the expectation of resuming full operations on Thursday, August 31st.
Idalia is expected to be a major hurricane in the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, but uncertainty in the track and intensity forecasts remains high. Regardless of ldalia's exact track and intensity, there is a risk of dangerous storm surge, hurricane-force winds, and heavy rainfall along the west coast of Florida and the Florida Panhandle by Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday.
Please be mindful that the campus will be closed and staff will not be available for immediate assistance. BDCHS is not a designated storm shelter. We will continue to keep you updated as the storm progresses. Please take the necessary arrangements to protect your family and home.
Thank you,
Cheryl Hyde
Principal
