The annual Black History Month Celebration and Art Contest at BDCHS was a great success! Families and community members from charter schools across Hillsborough County came together to honor the contributions of African Americans. The event featured musical performances, a student art contest and gallery, inspiring guest speakers, and a soul food luncheon.

Conference Night is Monday from 4:00-6:00pm! While you're here, check out the HART (Hillsborough Transit Authority) Black History Tour! Students will also have the opportunity to tour the bus throughout the school day.
HART will bring a specially-wrapped bus on-site to teach about African American History. This interactive presentation takes visitors around and inside the bus.

In October 2024, I partook in a volunteer medical mission in Nigeria. This illustration captures a procedure in which I administered anesthetics for the removal of a large sarcoma tumor from the patient's leg. Pictured is volunteer Dr. Michael Walters using an electrosurgical blade to lacerate and cauterize tissue as he carved out the tumor.
