Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School has been recognized as a 2025 Cognia® School of Distinction, a prestigious honor awarded to only a select group of top-performing schools and systems worldwide.

The recognition, announced by Cognia—a globally respected nonprofit dedicated to school improvement and accreditation celebrates institutions that demonstrate excellence in education, student achievement, and continuous improvement. Of the approximately 1,110 Cognia Accreditation Engagement Reviews conducted globally during the 2024–2025 school year, only 35 schools and systems received the School of Distinction title. Brooks DeBartolo is one of just 23 schools in the U.S. to earn the honor, representing 14 states.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized among this elite group of schools,” said school leadership in an announcement to families. “This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and shared commitment to excellence by our entire school community.”

The Cognia review process is known for its rigor and depth, requiring a comprehensive self-assessment, an on-site evaluation by expert reviewers, and the development of a data-informed improvement plan. Schools are assessed across several key domains, including academic quality, leadership, culture, equity, and student engagement.
