seniors pose during spirit week

We are so sad to see our seniors say goodbye, but it was amazing to send them off positively. We started with the senior spirit week, where seniors were able to dress up exclusively for the week leading up to prom. Some of the themes included celebrity day and heroes and villains day. That Friday, all students were invited to dress in class colors in honor of class olympics, where each grade competed against each other in a volleyball tournament. At the end of the tournament, our teachers and staff even competed with the seniors (see the picture). That Saturday was prom, with this year’s theme being Night of a Thousand Lights, hosted at the Cuban Club in Ybor city where seniors and juniors said they had a remarkable time.

Above all else, we are extremely proud of our senior graduates. Our graduation ceremony was held at Morsani Hall at the Straz Center, where we celebrated the end of this chapter and the beginning of many more, as well as the kickoff to the rest of their careers. Our BDCHS choir sang during the ceremony and our ROTC announced the pledge of allegiance. There was also a keynote speaker to declare words of appreciation and congratulations to our leaving seniors. Again we are so proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see where they SOAR next as a (now former) Phoenix.
