students model at the annual art and fashion show

Last Thursday, BDCHS hosted their 6th annual art showcase, where students displayed their art in all forms. Many students put their printed pieces out for exhibition or purchase, and others performed in dance or modeled in the fashion show. Models showcased their culture through various styles and outfits, and some displayed their hobbies in a cosplay showcase. Students worked tremendously hard and received recognition for their products here and outside of our community. Bilal Abouzied exhibited a piece of his art at the House of Shadows Creative Gallery & Market, and presented it at our art show as well(left). The picture in the middle depicts one of the many art tables at the show, this one by Alecs Asencio. However, it wasn't just students expressing themselves through the arts, as some of our staff joined students as models in the fashion show, including Mr. Crenshaw and Ms. Soltis. At the end of the show, all of the models stepped on stage (right).

Students also created and modeled their own clothes at the showcase, or had others model them for them. Senior Dhwani Joshi performed a dance from her culture to follow the models presenting fashion from their own (left), while senior Carissa Smith successfully carried out a ballet on her own (right), both of which were performed elegantly. The picture in the middle shows another student, Gahyun Kim, displaying her talent through printed pieces of her art.

In other elective news, the music department will be hosting their Spring Concert in the evening at 7pm. Admission is free, and all are welcome. The theme of the concert is “Finding My Way Home”, with the flyer attached below.
